Several people are feared dead following a road accident that occurred at the at the Kipsitet Area at Koguta along the Nakuru-Muhoroni Highway on Monday.
The accident occurred after the Londiani-bound lorry lost control after hitting a porthole before ramming into the 14-seater matatu that was en-route to Kisumu.
Preliminary reports suggested that about thirteen people lost their lives following the accident with several others left nursing critical injuries.
A rescue operation was quickly scrambled to help rescue those trapped under the wreckage. The rescue team comprised of police officers and the locals.
Footage circulating widely depicted the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) damaged extensively with its windows shattered and pieces of glass strewn all over the road.

According to the police commander, the driver was not well informed with the highway and was driving on the wrong lane when the crash occurred.
