The accident involving a passenger matatu with 11 occupants and a trailer ferrying coffee seeds occurred at 2am on Friday.
It is reported that the trailer, which was heading towards Eldoret, developed a brake failure and lost control, ramming into the matatu heading towards Nairobi from Kitale.

Meanwhile, it is not the first time an accident has been reported at the area. In August last year, 14 people died and 36 people got injured in an accident involving a Coast Bus at the Migaa area.
The accident occurred after the bus, which was travelling from Kericho to Nakuru, experienced break failure and lost control before it rammed into a personal car, and subsequently rolled into a ditch.
