
Inside Hamisa Mobetto’s impressive Ksh27 million dowry

Popular Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto, who got married over the weekend, had a dowry of Tsh555 million (Ksh27 million) paid.
Hamisa and her fiancé, Yanga SC soccer star Stephanie Aziz Ki, tied the knot in a beautiful Nikah ceremony held at Nnuur Mosque in Mbweni, Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
The wedding festivities began on February 15, when Aziz Ki honored cultural traditions by paying the bride price, which included 150 cows and 30 million Tanzanian shillings.
According to Hamisa’s mother, Shufaa Lutigunga, his son-in-law paid a bride price of 150 cows worth Tsh3.5 million each, which translates to Tsh555 million (Ksh27 million).
“I am so in love with my son-in-law. I had prayed for my daughter Hamisa to find a husband who would have a good relationship with her as a family and indeed God has answered my prayers. As for the dowry, we agreed on 150 head of cattle, which he paid at Tsh 3.5 million per head,” said S. Lutigunga.
Hamisa and her husband a Burkina Faso nationality, first met in South Africa.
“It was love at first sight. From the day I met her, I knew she was the one to be my wife.” Aziz said after walking down the aisle.
Aziz who was born in Ivory Coast but currently plays for Burkina Faso, is currently one of the highest-paid footballers in the Tanzanian Premier League, earning about Ksh2.6 million per month.
He is also eligible for bonuses for goals and assists. The perks also include an apartment in a luxury estate and two business-class airline tickets.
The goal poacher helped his club, Yanga FC, win two league titles and reach the 2023 CAF Confederations Cup final. A section of netizens who disagreed with the wedding also pointed out that Hamisa followed the money.
He scored 21 goals and laid on eight assists last season, attracting interest from several clubs, but has managed just five so far this term. Hamisa is a mother of two children.
She has a child with Bongo flava singer Diamond Platnumz and Tanzanian renowned media owner Majizo
