Kenya Airways on Tuesday, April 16 cancelled a flight into and out of Dubai after severe weather conditions and flooding in the Middle East country.
In a notice on Wednesday, KQ announced that another flight was equally cancelled on April 16 due to the severe condition that lashed the Gulf on Tuesday after a heavy storm.
“We are monitoring the situation and are in close contact with Dubai authorities to minimise the inconvenience and disruption to our customers' travels,” KQ said, apologising to its customers for the inconveniences. Those affected have been advised to contact KQ customer support lines.
On Tuesday, a heavy storm left Dubai Airport flooded and at least 18 dead in Oman.
This led to a 25-minute suspension of operations and more than 50 flights cancelled.
The widespread flooding was witnessed around the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain leaving shopping centres like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates flooded.
The Dubai Metro station, residential areas and other roads in the desert country were flooded.
Weather forecasts predict further storms across the UAE.
