Six startups picked for Britam’s BetaLab pre-incubation program

Britam’s innovation hub, BetaLab, has picked six potential startups to join its 12-week pre-incubation program.

The initiative seeks to provide solutions in Kenya’s financial services sector, addressing pressing issues in real estate, savings, SME financing, and healthcare sectors.

They include Zereba, Amsha, Adapo, Chamazetu, Pesaflex, and Medicod AI, all with distinct solutions in an array of fields including health, savings, MSMEs, as well as crowdfunding.

Britam’s Director of Partnerships and Digital, Evah Kimani, said the program will bolster talent in the country, thereby creating employment.

“We are excited to collaborate with these talented entrepreneurs and support their growth journeys. Their innovative solutions have the potential to transform the financial services industry and improve the lives of Kenyans,” she said.

The selection process followed a nationwide call for applications, resulting in a diverse pool of candidates.

The chosen startups were shortlisted based on the quality of their ideas and the clarity of their objectives.

The pre-incubation program, an intensive 12-week journey, aims to accelerate the startups’ growth and development.

Upon completion, the top three performers will have the opportunity to enter BetaLab’s incubation phase.

This initiative is in partnership with Senior Talent, an organisation that links experienced senior business executives with founders to address business challenges and accelerate development.
