Shabana to get state-of-the-Art bus next year, says Nyamweya

Shabana FC Patron Sam Nyamweya says the club will benefit from a state-of-the-art bus in the New Year.

According to the former Football Kenya Federation chief, who is angling to reclaim the seat he held before paving way for Nick Mwendwa, one of the Cabinet secretaries has committed to the cause.

Shabana, like many communal clubs have operated on a shoe-string budget which has in many instances crippled their operations.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards have particularly been hit hard, and Nyamweya reckons that the man in question, has pledged to come to the club's rescue.

He said: "Shabana continues to attract support from various stakeholders and individuals from all aspects of society since they joined the Kenya Premier League.

"The sponsor of the bus will be unveiled after all formalities have been addressed. This comes as great news for the team as they break for the festive season after tomorrow’s game against Bidco United in Thika," he explained, adding that, "I wish the team victory in the match. tomorrow[Thursday]. I urge Shabana FC to focus on the league and become giants and restore its former glory.

Tore Bobe as they are fondly known take on Bidco United in a Kenyan Premier League game on Thursday.

Last month, Gor Mahia benefited from a spanking 45-seater bus, donated to them through the Eliud Owalo Foundation, a brainchild of ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

Shabana have been linked with several bigwigs among them Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, while Owalo has distinguished himself as an avid football lover and it remains unclear who could be behind the push for a new bus even though Nyamweya remained tight-lipped on the identity of the individual saying "it'll be made public once all logistics are complete."

Tore Bobe are perched at position16 on the 18-team league table after a difficult start to life in the top division in which they have recorded just three wins in 15 matches.
