Sakaja claims voter fraud plot in Nairobi

United Democratic Party's Nairobi Candidate for Governor Johnson Sakaja has alleged there is a plot to rig the August 9th General elections in the Capital in favour of Azimio la Umoja Candidates.

The Senator claimed that there was a meeting held in Nairobi hotel last week consisting all county administration with inclusion of chiefs and county commanders where the plan was hatched. Mr. Sakaja stated that Chief's should keep off election process. Their work is to provide security and ensure kenyans are receiving services from the National Government and stop being used to interefere with elections.

According to the UDA party candidate, the Government officials were instructed to collect national identity cards from citizens and pay them a fee with intentions of voter suppression in UDA strong holds within Nairobi County.

Mr. Sakaja alleged that there were also some National offices being used to intimidate the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from doing their constitutional duties and delaying the election process. Why is the IEBC being bullied? This is an abuse of the office and we shall not tolerate that and any other intereference to the elections process by anyone.

He further accused that the Ministry of Interior of being behind the election intereference and voter manipulation plans in Nairobi County.
