Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has told former President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop sponsoring demonstrations through the Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Nyoro claimed that the former president was out to antagonise President William Ruto's government through demonstrations.
Speaking in Kiharu, the MP said Ruto's administration will not be shaken by Azimio threats to return to the streets.
“The former President has been financing protests, so it would be prudent for him to thank Kenyans for the two terms he served as the head of state and stop planning to topple Ruto's government,” he claimed.
The lawmaker said the government will not be moved by the protests designed to favour some politicians.
Kigumo MP Joseph Munyoro said those calling for the demonstrations were pursuing their political interests.
Munyoro accused the opposition of engaging in selfish political acts as the government has managed to bring down the cost of essential commodities.
“The cost of maize flour has gone down among other essential commodities and calling for the demos is not worth it,” said Munyoro.
The opposition leader has vowed to organise Kenyans to liberate themselves from oppression and exploitation in 2024.
