The 2024 World Athletics Continental Tour calendar has been released, featuring an exciting lineup of events including the Kip Keino Classic.

The tour comprises over 190 meetings across four levels – Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Challenger, each distinguished by the level of competition and prize money.

The Gold level series commences on February 15 in Melbourne, Australia, with the Maurie Plant Meet, where top athletes, including Britain’s world 1500m champion Jake Wightman, are expected to compete.

The Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi, Kenya, on April 20, is a highlight on the Gold level tour. Other Gold level meetings will take place in Gaborone (Botswana), Los Angeles (USA), Tokyo (Japan), Ostrava (Czechia), New York (USA), Turku (Finland), Bydgoszcz (Poland), Hengelo (Netherlands), Szekesfehervar (Hungary), and Zagreb (Croatia).

The Kip Keino Classic holds particular significance as athletes gear up for the Paris Olympics in August. It promises to be a key event in their preparation, featuring world-class competition.

In the 2023 Continental Tour, the Kip Keino Classic witnessed remarkable performances, contributing to a season that saw 15,552 athletes from 173 countries, setting records and achieving personal bests.

Notable highlights from the 2023 tour included Ryan Crouser's world shot put record in Los Angeles, Zoe Hobbs breaking the Oceania 100m record and Brooke Andersen's impressive hammer throw.

The 2024 Gold level meetings have already secured TV rights in 145 territories, and for areas without broadcast coverage, a live stream will be available on the World Athletics YouTube channel
