Kenyan forward Silko Amari completes move to Leicester City football club

Kenyan forward Thomas Silko Amari Otieno has officially announced his move to English club Leicester City.

He confirmed the transfer a week after scoring for the team during their Under 21 Premier League Cup match, which unfortunately ended in a 4-3 defeat to Burnley at the Leicester City FC Training Ground.

Taking to his Instagram account, the former Chelsea under 23s player shared a photo of himself donning a Leicester City jersey at the Leicester City FC Training Ground, expressing his excitement for this new chapter with the caption, "Excited for this new chapter with @lcfc."

Thomas Silko had been without a club after his release by Chelsea at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season. He initially joined Leicester City as a trialist before earning a permanent spot.

Primarily a right-winger, Silko's journey in football began when he joined Chelsea as an Under 10 player, where he spent nearly a decade before being deemed surplus to requirements.

In July, the 19-year-old had a brief trial period with Sunderland, but the move to the Black Cats did not materialize.

Silko boasts an impressive youth career, including a Premier League Runner-up medal in 2020/2021, FA Youth Cup Runner-up in 2019/2020, and a U18 Premier League Cup Winner in 2021/2022.

He has already made three appearances for Leicester, accumulating 213 minutes on the field and scoring one goal.
