Kenya Bankers Association confirms Raimond Molenje as new CEO

The Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) has confirmed Raimond Molenje as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2024.

His appointment followed a competitive selection process.

Molenje, who has been with KBA since 2018, boasts over 19 years of experience in legal, regulatory, and human resources leadership, as well as in advocacy and stakeholder engagement.

Before his promotion, Molenje served as Director of Legal, Human Resources, and Policy Advocacy at the KBA, where he played a key role in shaping the sector’s advocacy initiatives and building critical industry relationships.

He succeeds Habil Olaka, whose term ended in March.

KBA chairman John Gachora said Molenje will lead the Association’s strategic direction, focusing on industry advocacy, sustainability, capacity building, training, and strengthening partnerships within the banking sector.

“We are confident that under Mr. Molenje’s leadership, the Association will continue to evolve and enhance its impact in driving growth and positive change in Kenya’s banking sector,” he said.

He added that Molenje’s appointment aligns with KBA’s ongoing commitment to promoting responsible finance and sustainable development across Kenya’s financial landscape.

The new CEO holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and an International Diploma in Human Resource Management from Cambridge International College in the UK.
