The man who attacked a Clark County Judge in court after she denied his probation stemming from aggravated assault is expected in her courtroom on Monday, Jan 8.

Las Vegas District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus ordered that Deobra Redden be returned to her for sentencing despite the viral clip attacking her.

She has ordered the man to appear before her Monday “by any means necessary,” court documents said.

Redden’s outburst occurred when he leaped over the bench and physically assaulted Judge Holthus. He punched her in the head and pulled her hair, prompting staff to rush and help her.

The attack left the judge shaken but fortunately mostly unharmed. However, another court employee suffered a severe head injury, requiring 25 stitches.

The incident occurred after Redden’s attorney had asked Judge Holthus for parole, but she chose to sentence the 3-time felon instead, which seems to be what triggered his act of rage.

Redden’s lawyer reportedly asked that he be granted probation, as he suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. 

He faces 13 new charges. Redden has been charged with coercion with force or threat of force, extortion, intimidating public officers/others with the use of force, disregard of the safety of person/property and battery by prisoner, probationer, or parolee.
