Hospitality: Billionaire Branson upgrades Maasai Mara’s Mahali Mzuri Safari Camp

Mahali Mzuri, Sir Richard Branson’s luxury safari camp in the Maasai Mara, is set for an extensive upgrade to elevate guest experiences, Virgin Limited Edition has announced.

The refurbishment will enhance the camp’s 12 luxury tents, dining areas, bar, lounge, and swimming pool, all overlooking the valley traversed by the iconic Great Wildebeest Migration.

Despite the upgrades, Mahali Mzuri will maintain its signature tented design and deep-rooted connection to Maasai culture and African heritage.

“A new interior design concept, crafted in collaboration with Lynne Hunt London, will create an immersive and tranquil environment, fostering a deeper connection with the surrounding nature,” Virgin Limited Edition stated.

The project also emphasizes sustainability, integrating rainwater collection and a 100% renewable solar farm to ensure eco-friendly operations.

Wilson Odhiambo, General Manager of Mahali Mzuri, expressed excitement about the refurbishment.

“This upgrade will not only enrich guest experiences but also strengthen their connection to Mahali Mzuri’s breathtaking surroundings, wildlife, and Maasai culture,” he said.

The camp is scheduled to reopen in June, aligning with the peak season of the Great Migration, offering guests a revitalized luxury safari experience.
