Dp Kindiki Shares New Year Message Amid Reports of Fallout with Ruto

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday, January 1, shared a new year message to Kenyans, amid reports of internal political tensions and fallout with President William Ruto.

In his New Year message, Kindiki emphasized the importance of unity, resilience, and commitment to a shared vision of a cohesive and prosperous nation.

“The beginning of the year provides all of us with the opportunity to renew our collective focus on Project Kenya,” Kindiki stated.

"Now is the time for each citizen to freshen the resolve to work harder towards a better future and a more cohesive nation.”

He further expressed hope for the country’s progress, highlighting the shared vision of a society free from fear and want.

“This way, we will expedite the realization of our vision of a society free from fear and want. God bless this our land and nation,” the DP said.

Prior to his reflective message, Kindiki had shared a brief greeting, wishing Kenyans a prosperous start to the year.

“Happy, blessed, and joyous 2025. God bless your families, and God bless Kenya,” he said.

On Tuesday, December 31, President William Ruto hosted a New Year’s party at the Kisii State Lodge, but Kenyans were quick to notice the absence of his deputy, Kithure Kindiki.

While the president shared photos and updates from the event on his social media platforms, his deputy refrained from commenting on or acknowledging the celebration.

Instead, Kindiki used his platforms to share his personal New Year wishes and a message of hope for the country.

Kindiki’s absence at the high-profile event sparked speculation among Kenyans, with many questioning whether a rift had developed between him and the president days after his swearing-in as deputy president.

The incident drew comparisons to the relationship between President Ruto and his predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, who had also begun missing key events attended by the head of state.
