Digital taxi-hailing company Bolt has introduced a feature that will enable users to schedule rides up to 72 hours in advance.
With Scheduled Rides, the company says it seeks to relieve customers of the last-minute stress of finding a ride. It will also come in handy for business customers seeking to reserve rides for work-related trips or book the same for their business guests.
Bolt said customers who use the feature will enjoy guaranteed availability and will no longer need to worry about availability during peak hours or crowded events.
Passengers can choose their preferred vehicle type and add special instructions for drivers.
“Passengers have more control over their business and personal travel, making mobility seamless and more enjoyable,” Bolt Country Manager Linda Ndung’u said.
To schedule a rider, one needs to open the Bolt app and enter you’re their destination, select "Schedule Ride" and choose the desired pickup date and time, then confirm their booking.
Scheduled Rides is Bolt’s answer to Uber’s Reserve feature that lets riders reserve a trip up to 90 days in advance and at least 30 minutes in advance.
After making reservation, one is then able to view reservation requests up to seven days in advance.
