East African Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Winnie Odinga has blasted a Kenyan who told her to implore her father ODM leader Raila Odinga to call for protests. 

The X user, by the name Steve Kiptoo replied to Winnie's post asking her to tell, her father, Raila to call for protests. 

"Si uambie baba yako aweke maandamano," Kiptoo said in a post. 

Kiptoo's post has since been deleted. 

Winnie immediately responded saying that her father should be left alone. 

"Si ulimtuma Bondo? Achana na Baba yangu," she said. 

This is loosely translated to: "You sent him to Bondo, leave my father alone". 

The altercation came after a section of Kenyans took to social media to call for demos over the increase in the costs of government services in the country. 

From the announcements, Kenyans who have turned 18 years of age and are now seeking an Identity Card will now have to part with Sh1,000. 

Initially, Kenyans paid nothing for the service.

For Kenyans seeking replacement of lost IDs, the Government has increased the charges 20 times, meaning they will now pay Sh2,000, up from Sh1o0 they used to pay.

For passport seekers, they will be now required to pay Sh7500 for a 34page booklet up from Sh4500, 

The ordinary passport (50 pages ) will now cost Sh9,500 from Sh6,000 and the ordinary passport (66 pages) will cost Sh12,000 to Sh7,500.

A diplomatic passport of 50 pages will now  cost Sh15,000 from Sh 7, 500

Kenyans who are looking to replace their lost passports will part with Sh20,00, up from Sh12,000.

Those seeking to replace a valid mutilated passport will now pay sh20,000, up from Sh10,000.

The increases sparked sharp reactions on social media as some Kenyans demanded the need to have demos to force the government to rescind the decision.
