Willis Raburu and his partner Ivy Namu are celebrating their daughter Yara's 2nd birthday today. The couple took to social media to mark the occasion, with Ivy describing Yara as a "butterfly" who is growing up too fast.
"Happy 2nd birthday, my sweet Yara! 🥹 You’ve grown so fast, hitting your milestones with ease. I constantly have to remind myself that you’re still my little baby, which is why you won on the nyonyo issue 😂. You can have it as long as you want, hunny 🥰.
You’re so confident, fearless, kind, and loving, and it’s an honor to watch you grow, my love. I speak more love, light, abundance, and favor into your life, my little one. May God keep you safe and healthy for us. We’re ready for your terrific twos, my little butterfly. Happy, happy birthday, baby!! To many more, we love you deeply 🥳❤️."
In a past interview, Ivy shared that she became pregnant with Yara when her son was just 6 months old. At the time, she and Willis were actively trying for a baby.
However, Ivy was struggling to conceive due to extra progesterone hormones, which made her body think she was already pregnant. After consulting a gynecologist, she was finally able to conceive.
Ivy praised Willis for being supportive, especially when it came to changing their son's diapers, as she was still learning.
When she discovered she was pregnant with her second child less than a year after her son was born, she was shocked and felt guilty for not giving her son enough time.
"When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I was so shocked. Mali was just six months old, and I felt guilty because I thought I hadn’t given my son enough time. I blamed myself. When I told Willis, he was very happy. We told our family as usual, but it took me some time to accept it."
Ivy admitted that she struggled with mom guilt, wanting to spend as much time as possible with her son, which left her feeling fatigued. However, she got through it with the support of her family.
"Luckily for me, during my first pregnancy, I didn’t have morning sickness, but I was very emotional. I became intentional about spending time with my son before becoming a mom for the second time.
I pushed myself to overcompensate, and it was exhausting because Mali always wanted to be carried. It was a hard emotional balancing act."
Thanks to her family’s support, Ivy was able to navigate the challenges of being a mother of two.
