Nairobi and it's environs experience a 4.2 magnitude earthquake

Nairobi and its environs experienced a slight earth tremor on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, after the earth movements were forecast.

City residents reported tremors in parts of Kitengela, Westlands and Ruaka while the initial forecast indicated that the termor would affect Kajiado, Kiambu, Muranga and Nairobi counties.

The earth tremor happened at 8: 33 pm on Tuesday and was experienced by some of the Kenyans who took to social media to confirm the incident.

“Anyone else felt that earth tremor? Wueh……,” asked popular radio host Maina Kageni on his X handle.

“Did I just feel an earth tremor? Of about 5 seconds,” Doctor and journalist Mercy Korir reacted.

“Who felt the earth tremor just now,” Nominated member of parliament Jeniffer Shamalla inquired.

A website which tracks earthquakes www.earthquaketrack.com confirmed that the incident indeed happened in Nairobi and its environs from around 8: 34 pm local time.
