Campbell Scott, the British businessman who went missing in Westlands, Nairobi, last week, has been found dead.
Scott's death was confirmed by Makueni County Commander Alice Kimeli on Monday, February 24, after a decomposing body, suspected to belong to the Briton, was discovered in Makongo Forest—about 96 kilometres from where he was last seen.
The body was found stashed in a green sack by herders, and there was initial uncertainty as to whether it was that of the missing 58-year-old.
Notably, the body was badly decomposed, suggesting Scott may have died hours or possibly days before the discovery.

His hands and legs were bound with a green nylon rope, suggesting that he may have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the forest.
Authorities recovered the body and sent it to Nairobi for identification, where it was positively identified to belong to Campbell Scott.
A taxi driver and waiter have since been detained for questioning in connection to the disappearance and subsequent death of the Senior Director at a credit scoring firm.
Scott arrived in the country on Sunday, February 16, and was last seen on February 17 while attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi.

His colleague, with whom he travelled to Nairobi, sensed something was amiss on Monday around 6 p.m. after efforts to reach him via his mobile phone proved futile. An hour later, the hotel recommended involving the police in the matter.
During his visit to Kenya, Scott was scheduled to meet with officials from various nations, including the UK, the US, and other African countries.
The businessman's disappearance prompted an intense police search, assisted by Interpol, in the days leading up to the grim discovery on February 24.
