Marya Okoth shared a statement on Instagram where she revealed that the decision to breakup was reached due to unavoidable circumstances.

" Hello and good morning, we are saddened to let you know that Marya Okoth and YY comedian will no longer be together due to unavoidable circumstances. Thankyou for your love and support through our union. We expect individual privacy from each one of you."

The mother of one however did not share the exact reason why the two of them decided to part ways.

In a previous interview, YY comedian, born Oliver Otieno, shared details of his relationship with Marya Okoth and how he fell in love with her.

the comedian said he chose Marya because of her submissive nature and not getting mad all the time. He said this was in terms of the respect a woman shows to her man, considering that men and women will never be equal. 

He said the age difference between Marya and him is around eight years and that it is the standard age 

Together they have a daughter named Baby Circe Gaona. YY, introduced Marya on Churchill Show as his girlfriend in 2021 marking a milestone in their love story.
