Police in Tororo, Uganda, on Sunday, October 27 arrested one Emodo Vincent, who was found in illegal possession of a firearm.

It all started on Saturday, October 26 around 5 pm when police officers received a tip-off about a gun allegedly hidden under the bed of Emodo’s house in Pereje village, Apokor Town Council.

According to Uganda Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, the police got the information from one Nyapendi Josephine, who, during a prayer session reportedly became possessed and revealed the presence of the gun.

“The information was provided by Nyapendi Josephine, who claimed that she had become possessed by holy spirits, prompting her to disclose the presence of the gun to Onyapidi Alfonse…,” the police spokesperson says.

Police recovered an SMG rifle with a bullet already chambered. A further search of Emodo’s residence led to the discovery of one magazine containing 29 rounds of ammunition.

At the time the weapon was found, Emodo had fled to avoid arrest; however, police successfully apprehended him a day later.
