Residents of Nairobi’s Kilimani neighborhood are reeling in shock following the mysterious death of a middle-aged man at Heartland Apartments along Kindaruma Road.
The deceased, identified as Festus Lee Oromo, is believed to have plunged from the 14th floor of the high-rise building on Sunday evening, November 30.
His body was discovered on the roof of a white Nissan Tiida parked in the apartment complex, bearing injuries consistent with a high-impact fall.
A postmortem examination conducted today revealed that Festus suffered extensive trauma, including multiple organ injuries to the head, chest, and abdomen, and fractures to both legs. The impact severely damaged the vehicle on which he landed.
Authorities say Festus had checked into Airbnb unit 1406, Block B, on November 28, accompanied by two individuals who have since been arrested — Lilian Moraa Mbeki and Patrick Jagongo.

Detectives are working to establish how Festus fell — or was pushed — from the apartment balcony. Court documents presented at Kibera Law Courts indicate that the room was found in disarray, pointing to a possible violent confrontation.
Lilian was reportedly found asleep in one of the bedrooms, allegedly intoxicated.
Clothing and identification documents belonging to Festus were recovered at the scene.
Preliminary reports further suggest that Festus and Lilian met through the dating platform Tinder earlier this year and had maintained a close relationship.
Lilian, who holds dual citizenship in Kenya and Costa Rica, is said to have made frequent visits to Kenya to meet him.
Visitor logs show that several other guests accessed the apartment in the days before the incident.
According to detectives, Lilian stated that she, Festus, and Patrick had been drinking together on the night of the tragedy.
She claims she retired to the bedroom, leaving the two men drinking in the living room — details now central to the ongoing investigation.
Both Lilian and Patrick were arrested on Sunday — Lilian at the apartment and Patrick in Kahawa West. The court has granted detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations 14 days to hold and question the suspects as they piece together Festus’ final moments.
Toxicology tests have been collected to determine whether substances may have influenced the events leading to his death.
The chilling case continues to unfold as investigators work to uncover what truly transpired in the moments before Festus Lee Oromo’s fatal fall.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as the search for answers intensifies.
