First Assurance launches innovative health coverage for Kenyan SMEs

First Assurance, a leading insurance company in Kenya, has introduced a new medical insurance product aimed at transforming healthcare access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This product, First Afya Biashara, is designed to cater specifically to businesses with 3 to 19 employees, offering tailored solutions to meet diverse needs and budgets.

First Afya Biashara stands out by providing a variety of options that allow businesses to select plans that best fit their requirements. This flexibility ensures that employees can access essential healthcare without placing a financial strain on their employers.

Significantly, the product addresses mental health, a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of employee well-being. First Afya Biashara includes comprehensive mental health support, offering services such as therapy, counselling, medication, and management through a network of reputable mental health institutions.

Additionally, it covers substance abuse treatment, providing vital support for employees seeking recovery.

The plan also extends coverage to serious conditions like attempted suicide and intentional self-injury, ensuring that employees have access to necessary care during difficult times. Other essential health services included in the coverage are maternity care, family planning, fertility treatments for IVF, annual check-ups, and co-pay options for outpatient consultations.

By launching First Afya Biashara, First Assurance aims to enhance the well-being of employees in SMEs, promoting a healthier and more productive workforce. This initiative fills a critical gap in the Kenyan insurance market, reflecting First Assurance's commitment to providing comprehensive and accessible health solutions for businesses.
