Veteran singer Celine Dion is back with new music for the first time in over six years.

The beloved singer and music superstar just dropped her French-language song dubbed Dansons on Friday, April 17, 2026, ahead of her comeback concert residency in Paris later this year.

She is resuming her music career amid her battle with stiff-person syndrome. Celine publicly revealed her diagnosis in December 2022.

Dion last released new music in 2023, when she contributed several tracks to the “Love Again” movie soundtrack, including the title track, “Love Again,” which was also included on Dion’s “I Am: Celine Dion” documentary soundtrack.

Dion’s most recent studio album was 2019’s “Courage”, her 27th studio album overall.

Danson

Dion returned with the three-minute-long “Danson”, which translates to “Let’s Dance” in English.

The lyrics of the first verse of the song roughly translate to, “Let’s dance, above the abyss, at the edges of the peaks. And the shallows; let’s leave, let’s fly, waltz .

“Let’s dance when the world is wobbling. On a step, on a thread, to our entangled bodies.”

“Our hands tied to forget our sorrows. Let nothing hold us back, hold us back.”

Dion’s comeback

The release of “Dansons” comes more than two weeks after Dion announced 16 comeback concerts in Paris this fall, amid her ongoing battle with stiff-person syndrome.

“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life…I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September!” Dion announced in a press release at the time.

“I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of YOU! I love you all, and I’ll see you soon!”

Dion announced in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare, chronic and progressive neurological disease.

Dr Leah Croll, a neurologist, previously explained to ABC News that stiff-person syndrome can cause stiffness and rigidity in different muscles, leading to unsteadiness, slower movements and difficulties walking, symptoms Dion said she has experienced alongside difficulties singing.
