Ntazola Gloria: People Love You For What You Provide, Not Who You Are

Cosmetician Ntazola Gloria has warned people that friends do not always love them for who they are, but often for what they do for them.
In a post on Instagram on Friday, October 10, 2025, she asked followers to go through their contacts and reflect on who would stand by them if they lost everything.
“Hey, check your phone. Go through your contacts; roughly, you have 100 plus people. Many you call friends, some family members and the rest are random strangers you don’t even remember. Now ask yourself if today you lost everything,” she wrote.
She highlighted that most people have long contact lists, including friends, family members, and acquaintances they barely remember.
Gloria urged her followers to consider who would provide shelter if they were jobless, who could feed them without complaint, and who would check on their well-being when life becomes difficult. She stressed that many people only show affection when it benefits them, and that genuine support is rare.
“On that list, who is coming to your aid. Who will house you when you’re jobless? Who can feed you without complaining that you are a burden? Who will laugh with you when you are broke and worthless, since everything boils down to money? Who calls to check up if u okey,” she added.

Jungle
The cosmetician also reflected on the harsh realities of life, describing it as a jungle where only the strong survive and the weak perish.
She noted that life offers no inherent justice or fairness, and that people must create their own support systems.
Gloria warned that many hide their true intentions behind masks, making it essential to lower expectations and recognise that not everyone is as they appear.

“You only great to people when you beneficial. People love you for what you do for them not who you are. Life is such a jungle only the strong will survive and the weak will perish There’s no justice or fairness in this life. You have to create your own justice. People are not exactly who you think they are. Everyone is wearing a mask and it’s just a matter of time before you get to understand what exactly is hidden behind the mask. So lower your expectations,” Ntazola said.

Gloria advised that sometimes it is necessary to walk alone and rely on personal strength.
She encouraged her followers to seek guidance and support from God to navigate challenges and rebuild themselves during difficult periods.
She emphasised that relationships are often transactional, with loyalty tied to personal benefit rather than genuine care.
“You have to fight your way through life. Maybe you delete those contacts maybe you should walk alone maybe you should ask God to put you together,” she added.
