Police in collaboration with the provincial administration in Migori County have launched investigations into the death of a boda boda rider whose body was dumped near Makanga centre in Suna West.
The body of George Okoth, aged 43, was found by locals on Sunday morning.
Area chief Charles Ouma said the deceased hails from the Nyabisawa area in Suna East and was killed by unknown people on Saturday night around 9 p.m., according to preliminary investigations.
Ouma said Okoth was last seen ferrying two people from Migori town towards Nyabisawa direction before he was found dead.
He said the killers dumped the deceased motorcycle over 400 meters away from where the deceased’s body was retrieved.
The area chief said the killers neither took Okoth’s mobile phone nor his motorcycle after killing him.
Their motive for the killing has not been established and the rider’s body was taken to Migori Level IV hospital mortuary pending investigations.
