Kendrick Lamar officially has the biggest song of 2025 at the halfway point of the year.

The Compton superstar’s chart-topping collaboration with SZA “Luther” previously reigned the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks and according to Luminate, the song has now sold 3.9 million copies so far this year.

The top five was completely dominated by Lamar with “Not Like Us” and “TV Off” placing at third and fourth even though the diss track came out last summer.

Rounding out the top five was Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s collaboration “Die With a Smile” and Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem”.

SZA and Kendrick, who are currently on a world tour together, also have the second and third best selling albums of the year.

SZA’s SOS deluxe version, which was released at the end of last year, has shifted more than 1.711 million units in 2025 while Lamar’s GNX came in marginally behind with just over 1.7 million.

Both artists were a way behind Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem which has so far sold over 2.5 million equivalent units this year.

The news rounds off a good week for Lamar in which he received four Emmy Award nominations for his record breaking Super Bowl halftime show performance earlier this year.

The iconic performance, which featured cameos from Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams and Mustard, is nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Choreography (Variety/Reality).

Kendrick previously won an Emmy for his role in the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show in which he performed alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.

The iconic actor appeared on Paloma Faith’s Mad Sad Bad podcast and said: “I didn’t know what they were doing. It was kinda trippy because it wasn’t until dress rehearsal that when I looked up and I looked on that stage and I go, ‘Oh shit, that’s a flag. Ah, fuck, we’re being revolutionaries.’ Because I wasn’t listening or paying attention.”

Jackson appeared throughout the performance, playing a version of Uncle Sam, essentially narrating Kendrick’s show.
