Taarab singer Khadija Kopa has refuted claims that Diamond Platnumz has made marriage plans for her daughter, Zuchu.

"Mrs. Khadija, we were at a meeting of the Revolutionary Party, and there were many artists who were there, including Diamond Platnumz. After leaving, a clip went viral featuring Nandi, where he spoke about getting married to Zuchu before the holy month of Ramadan. Did the proposal come?"

Khadija responded, saying:

"I have not seen anyone bring a proposal. Nor have I seen it. I don't know if it will happen; I will tell you if it does. Ask Zuhura (Zuchu) herself. Even if I see that clip, I have not seen anyone bring a marriage proposal. If I saw him, I would tell you."

This is not the first time Mama Zuchu has come out to clarify the nature of the relationship between her daughter and Diamond.

In 2021, Khadija clarified:

"Diamond ananiona kama mama yake tangu zamani hata kabla Zuchu aende Wasafi (I'm like a mom to Diamond, and I knew him even before Zuchu joined his record label, Wasafi)," she said.

In 2024, Diamond's mother, Sandra Dangote, also denied claims that the artist wanted to marry Zuchu.

Diamond's mother denied that her son ever introduced Zuchu to her as a potential wife.

"He has never brought Zuchu to me and said he wants to marry her. What I know is that Zuchu is his artiste. He can actually stay with 100 women but has not decided to marry. What I know is a wife is the one you take your dowry to."

When told that people know Zuchu and Diamond are dating, she said:

"How do they know? Have they gone to the house? This world, since Naseeb started singing, there's no one who has not been told he has a wife," she added.

Diamond recently insisted that Zuchu is just an artist under his WCB music label.

In the Netflix show, Diamond described Zuchu as a situationship. Asked whether he has a girlfriend in Tanzania, Diamond said:

"I don't have a girlfriend anywhere."

Adding, "I can have three girls and treat them the same. That’s why it’s difficult to call it a relationship; I just wanna call it 'having fun.'"
