Tanzanian Gospel singer Goodluck Godzbert made headlines after torching a Mercedes Benz he had been given as a gift by Pastor Geo Devi in December 2021.

In a video that has gone viral, the singer is seen in a forest, where he goes ahead to park the vehicle before pouring kerosene all over it, then proceeding to light it.

Defending his actions, the gospel singer explained why he did so

"I want it to be known that the food I ate that day and the gift I was given that day did not please God. That alter was not right."

The singer explained in detail the reason he burnt the car. In his YouTube channel.Gozbert Ministries. 

The reasons are provided in detail in a two-part exclusive series where the 'Shukurani' hitmaker said he had been driving the car for a long time before God severally told him to stop driving it.

"It was in my name, meaning it was fully my car. That's why I changed it from silver to black." he shared in part.

Adding

"There's a time I gave a friend the car to go for a wedding, when he returned it back, for the third time instructions came that I should not drive that car nor give it to someone to drive it." he lamented on his situation.

On the video that premiered Sunday January 26, audiences sympathized with his situation with others adding it has been an eye opener.

He continued to narrate

"When God instructs you to do something, He doesn't need to tell you why."

The singer said he had no other option but to obey.

"What God will say, I shall follow." The car has been burnt because I serve a jealous God. I cannot be raised by God and then someone comes up and says he is the one who foresaw my raise."

The singer said he told the said pastor that he was instructed by God not to drive the car anymore.

"After telling him that, there was season of fake news being spread that I am dead. It happened thrice." he said.
