Initially, rumours suggested her boyfriend was only 21, which also did not sit well with many Kenyans who felt he was too young for Betty.

Betty had been frequently showcasing moments with her boyfriend, including wearing his sweatshirts and shoes, before eventually revealing his face.

She joined in the banter and, on Thursday, June 13, made his name and age public, confirming that he is 26. She also penned a heartfelt birthday message to him.

On Friday, June 14, Vera Sidika addressed the backlash, telling off netizens, "Give Betty Kyallo a break." She began scolding them by saying,

"When she dated older men, y'all were busy shaming her for messing with 'wababa' and married men. Now dating a younger guy is a problem? Eh, human beings, let the girl be happy."

Meanwhile, Vera is in Nigeria with her mysterious boyfriend. She left Kenya four days ago and was received like a princess upon arrival in Lagos, complete with a police escort at the airport.
