TIFA poll ranks Kithure Kindiki the best performing CS

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Professor Kithure Kindiki has been ranked the best performing CS with 34 per cent according to the polls released by TIFA.

The survey was conducted between June 24 and June 30, 2023 from 1,530 respondents spread across the nine regions of the country.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu came in second with a score of 7 per cent while his Health counterpart Susan Nakhumicha recorded 6 per cent. 

The survey revealed that despite the CSs serving for almost 10 months in their respective offices none of them recorded a performance that was above 40 per cent.

40 per cent of the respondents felt that no senior official of the government was fit to be identified as the best performing CS.

The survey which were conducted over the telephone recorded a +/-2.5 margin of error. 

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya has been poking holes in President Ruto's 22-member Cabinet claiming that the integrity of most of the individuals is questionable and hence they are undeserving of the said dockets.

Trade CS Moses Kuria, Aden Duale ( Defence), Eliud Owalo ( ICT), Njunguna Ndung'u ( Treasury) and Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary) were given a score of 1 per cent each. 

Going back to the Tifa polls, the worst-performing CSs scored below one percent — more than half the Cabinet got this score.

Four CSs were given a ranking of one per cent— Trade CS Moses Kuria, Aden Duale ( Defence), Eliud Owalo ( ICT), Njunguna Ndung'u ( Treasury) and Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary).

Simon Chelugui (Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, MSMEs), Davis Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum), Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs), Alice Wahome (Water, sanitation and irrigation) and Salim Mvurya (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs) collectively scored 4 per cent. 

Others include Soipan Tuya (Environment and Forestry), Aisha Jumwa (Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action), Rebecca Miano (East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development), Peninah Malonza (Tourism and Wildlife ), Zacharia Njeru (Lands, Housing and Urban Development), Mithika Linturi (Agriculture ) and Florence Bore (Labour and Social Protection).
