Tanzanian actress Grace Mapunda dies after a short illness

Veteran Tanzanian Swahili film actress Grace Mapunda has reportedly passed away.
This is according to her fellow actors on various social media platforms.
Lulu Hassan's production company, Jiffy Pictures, also released a statement mourning her as someone deeply dedicated to her craft in acting.
Until her passing, Mapunda was acting as Tesa on the show Huba, produced by Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla's Jiffy Pictures for Maisha Magic Bongo.
"We have lost her. Indeed, we belong to Almighty God, and to Him, we shall return. On behalf of the family of Grace Mapunda, we inform you that our beloved Grace Mapunda (TESA) is no longer with us. The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken; may His name be praised,” Jiffy Pictures shared in an update on their Facebook page on the morning of November 2.
Reports suggest that Mapunda passed away in hospital after a brief admission, having been hospitalized on November 1.
Grace Mapunda will be remembered for her contributions to the acting industry, often playing the role of a mother to many stars.
