A man on Monday October 28, 2024 was sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling his 9-year-old mentally challenged step-daughter in Tana River County.
Hola Resident Magistrate Mohamed Komora Said in his ruling revealed that the minor was harmed while her mother was away. The accused took advantage of the situation.
On September 30, 2024, the court found the accused guilty, and issued the life sentence on October 28, 2024, after the prosecution proved their case beyond reasonable doubt.
The prosecution, led by Michuki Alfred, presented strong evidence, including testimonies from six witnesses.
One critical moment occurred when the victim’s sister returned home from school on September 14, 2022, and discovered the situation.
The victim’s mother came home and found her daughter in distress. Upon investigation, she noticed blood stains on the girl’s clothes, and medical evidence supported her findings.
