Kenyan gospel singer and preacher Linet Munyali, famously known as Size 8, has shared her perspective on why the devil opposes marriages, describing it as a spiritual battle that many people fail to understand.

Speaking during an interview with local YouTubers on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Size 8 explained that life is spiritual and that the devil resents the sanctity of marriage because it represents the union God intended for humanity.

She further emphasised the spiritual significance of marriage in God’s plan.

“Life is spiritual, and people do not understand; the enemy hates marriages because marriage is a replica of Christ, who is the main groom and the body, which is his bride, the church, “Size 8 said.

“Devil anachukia marriage because hapo ndio alinyanganywa kila kitu, and the human being ikaendelea na the human race.“

The ordained preacher yet again encouraged married couples to pray before intimacy, adding that the prayer should not be loud but instead a silent one, noting that a person could simply whisper a small prayer of one or two sentences and allow the Lord to guide them.

“What I was telling people about before intimacy uombe, I was not saying that you speak in tongues; in your heart, just whisper sio lazima uonge na mdomo, in your heart, just whisper a small one or two sentences, and just allow the Lord,” she said.

She encouraged couples to place their marriage in Christ and pray over it, assuring them that doing so would help strengthen and protect their union.

“If you are a married couple, just know the enemy hates marriage, but God loves marriage, so put your marriage in Christ na uweke kwa maombi na itakuwa sawa,” Size 8 urged.

This is not the first time Size 8 has encouraged prayer before intimacy; in an interview with a local news outlet on July 10, 2023, she disclosed that she always prays without the knowledge of her husband, DJ Mo.

“I always pray in my heart and say to God, ‘God, Father, give this man strength, you are the one who created this act, Father, the way you created it, I want to enjoy it the way you saw it,” she disclosed.

The preacher further stated that intimacy is spiritual, which is why God should be involved before the act.

According to Size 8, the prayer should be personal and from the heart, creating an environment that the devil cannot interfere with.
