Kenyan content creator Terence Creative, born Lawrence Macharia, recently took to his Instagram page to reflect on a momentous event in his life that took place six years ago in the Rift Valley.
In a shocking revelation that sent shockwaves through the internet, the post shared by the comedian sparked both admiration and controversy with many of his fans lauding him for finally achieving his dream.
Terence Creative, known for his witty and humorous content, opened up about the tumultuous journey he and his wife, Milly Chebby, have been through.
He began the post with the cryptic words, “Saturday 21:10:2023 We saw Love, we felt Love.”
Six years ago, Terence Creative and his wife ventured to the Rift Valley for the traditional dowry ceremony known as “Koito.”
The shocking revelation here is that they arrived with a mere 23 thousand Kenyan shillings for the dowry, a sum considered by many to be far too small for such an occasion.
What’s even more astonishing is that Milly Chebby’s family accepted this meager offering, despite the financial odds stacked against the couple.
“Six years ago we came to Rift Valley for Koito, we left here embarrassed, we had only come with 23 thousand for dowry, God bless-my wife’s family for accepting our offer then, despite everything they accepted me as I was,” read Terence’s post in part.
He added, “God bless-my wife’s family for accepting our offer then, despite everything they accepted me as I was.” These words have ignited a debate in social media circles, with some applauding the couple’s journey from meager beginnings to success, while others criticize the dowry amount as inadequate and question the sincerity of the family’s acceptance.
The Instagram post continues with a message of faith and gratitude. Terence Creative credits God for making it possible, wiping their tears, covering their shame, and gracing them with His blessings. The content creator emphasizes that all of their achievements are to the glory and honor of God, portraying the importance of faith in his life.
He closes the post by addressing his wife directly, stating, “To my wife you are a gem, God bless for forever standing with me, Saturday was a day to remember.”
