Veteran politician Raphael Tuju has opened up about his pain and resilience following two near-death experiences.
Speaking on YouTube channel Family Media, Tuju spoke about how much he has to be grateful for.
He has survived an airplane crash and a rod accident in his lifetime.
"Whatever the enemy meant for evil, God can turn that around, and in my case he turned it around. He did. I mean if you can remember a few years ago, I had a very bad accident"
The former Rarieda MP is a man at peace.
Being at the doorstep of death, Tuju has found himself counting his blessings through the sheer love of God,
"So life is like vapor. Every day is a blessing, every day is a gift from God but also a loan from God. What do you do with that gift and loan that you have been given?"
He described his time in politics
" I made a mistake, I look at my life in politics sometimes as a lot of regret because I think that it was a waste of my life, I could have done other things,"
He however mentioned some benefits like helping less fortunate students get scholarships
Is he considering returning to politics?
"You know if any politician tells you that they will never go back into politics, he is lying. So, I don't want to lie. No, it is not in my blood, but sometimes you may find that there is a certain conspiracy of factors coming together and putting a wind behind you, to pull you in a certain direction, so basically, if it is that I go back I think I'll be looking at all ..basically what the Lord wants me to do."
What does the future hold?
"My future belongs to God, I think what is important one day at a time, in the sense that I sympathize with those who now they start talking about next year, the 2027, elections, some are even talking about the 2032 elections. I look at them and say wow they are braver than me because I don't know what's gonna happen next week, life is a loan from God, it is a gift from God and you can be sitting here and thinking you are very okay, all of a sudden..cancer growing you don't know, you don't know if you will be the next victim of a crash, anything can happen anytime"
