President William Ruto on Sunday urged all leaders within Narok County to amicably solve their disputes to help wipe out the deeply-rooted insecurity in the region.
Speaking during a church service in Kilgoris, Ruto noted that the community will play a pivotal role in ending banditry as efforts from the Interior Ministry and the security forces are not sufficient to silence the guns.
"There are things that can be solved at the community level so that people live in harmony. I urge the clergy, all leaders, the county government to work together," he noted.
"My government will partner with you to solve the vice so that Narok goes forward in peace and so that everyone focuses on development without people losing their lives."
The Head of Government went on to assure that officers will be deployed to help maintain peace in the county while also noting that Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki will soon hold a meeting with the county leadership to forge a way forward.
This comes amid a surging insecurity in the county and its outskirts as many residents have lost their lives over the banditry attacks.
