Ruto is set to attend the East Africa Community (EAC) High-Level Panel on Climate Change and Food Security.
Other Heads of State at the forum include Presidents Samia Suluhu Hassan (Tanzania), Évariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), former Ethiopia Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, Rwanda Prime Minister Édouard Ngirente and first deputy prime minister of Uganda Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.
The event is a precursor of COP 28 - the United Nations Climate Change Conference set to be held in Dubai from 30 November until 12 December 2023.
The forum is expected to explore strategies to address the adverse impacts of Climate Change in the region and harness any potential opportunities posed by Climate Change in the context of the principle of sustainable development.
Shortly before leaving the country, President Ruto graced the 14th Anniversary of the Joyful Women Organisation, Kasarani, Nairobi County.
