President William Ruto has instructed the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to formulate legislation regarding Artificial Intelligence, aiming to create favorable conditions for digital competitiveness.
The president emphasized that this initiative will significantly contribute to the country's economic growth.
He highlighted the principle that economies prioritizing research and development tend to maintain competitiveness by embracing future possibilities. The Digital Master Plan is designed to fulfill this purpose by empowering the nation to face an uncertain future confidently.
The president emphasized Kenya's dedication to establishing an environment conducive to digital competitiveness, attracting numerous technology companies, including major global players, who have recognized a promising ecosystem to launch transformative initiatives.
