President Ruto directs the Ministry of Education to postpone opening of schools until further notice

President William Ruto has directed the Ministry of Education to postpone the school opening date following the crisis occasioned by the ongoing heavy rains.
Addressing the nation on Friday, President Ruto said the school opening date be postponed "until further notice."
The initial school reopening date had been pushed from Monday 29 April to Monday 6th May.
"The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice," said Ruto on Friday.
