Obinna finally reveals two reasons that led him to stop working with Kiss 100

Obinna explained that he faced significant challenges trying to convince Kiss 100 on essential matters, such as allowing him to work with Chito to elevate their channel to the number one radio station in Kenya. Additionally, he felt his sacrifices, including sleepless nights to ensure top-quality delivery, went unrecognized.
“Bro, I would be sick. I was going through a very serious separation with my baby mama. It was ugly in the digital space. I did not have anyone. She was talking. I was lashing out. That was happening, but I would show up to work every day. Even if you look at my interviews in dark shades, nobody knows why my eyes were red when I was shooting my Kulacooler show. I would shoot until 2, 3 am, go home, sleep for one hour, and then go back to Kiss,” Obinna explained.
He decided to leave when his contract was up for renewal, and the station informed him they had no additional funds for a raise, despite a colleague receiving a salary increase.
“So, when my contract ended, I was like, let’s talk paper. What really pissed me off even more was that nobody asked me, ‘Bro, how much are you looking at?’ I was not asking for much. I was like, ‘What do you want to add?’ and they were like, ‘No, no, we don’t have it.’ And then I found out that my colleague’s salary had been increased,” Obinna revealed.
Obinna concluded by saying that he got upset for two reasons: first, they never granted his request to work with Chito, and second, they failed to honor their promise of revisiting his contract and potentially increasing his pay to motivate his hard work.
