Nakuru: Two injured after police engage in a fatal shootout with armed robbers

A fatal shootout between the police and an armed gang occurred in Umoja Estate in Nakuru where a LIAI rifle that had been used in a series of violent robberies was recovered.
The police team, comprising officers from DCI headquarters, DCI Nakuru North, and OCS Lanet, ambushed the gang at their hideout.
According to Directorate Criminal Investigations (DCI), two gang members were fatally injured while two others escaped with gunshot wounds. The police are in pursuit of the missing suspects.
Apart from the LIAI rifle, other weapons, and tools including a panga, dagger, hammer, a pair of pliers, balaclavas, and spent cartridges were recovered.
The crime scene has been processed by the Crime Scene Investigators and the bodies moved to the Nakuru Annex Morgue awaiting identification.
