Content creator Mitchelle Joyce Akoth Oruko, popularly known as Mjaka Mfine, has once again dismissed rumours linking her romantically with fellow creator Mokaya.

She made the clarification on the YouTube show Feast with Friends on Friday, November 21, 2025, emphasising that their relationship is purely professional.

Mjaka explained that while they often appear close on social media and take many photos together, this is simply a reflection of their collaboration.

She noted that dating a work partner could complicate things, especially if jealousy were to arise, and reiterated that they are just workmates celebrating each other’s successes.

“No, we are not dating. You know when you date your work partner, kazi haitafanyika. Imagine if I date Mokaya, and then I see him with another girl on set, I will obviously feel jealous. We are just workmates. We take a lot of photos together, it is called winning together,” she said.

Mokaya has also addressed the speculation, describing Mjaka as a great workmate. He emphasised that their on-screen chemistry fuels gossip, but their relationship remains strictly professional. In previous interviews, both creators have consistently clarified that there is no romantic involvement between them.

Mjaka Mfine and Mokaya are among Kenya’s rising digital entertainment stars. Mjaka started content creation around 2020 and has grown into one of the country’s most-followed creators on platforms like TikTok.

Mokaya, a student at Kenyatta University studying English literature, balances his studies with a growing comedy career.

He is known for his clever skits and strong partnership with Mjaka, which often go viral for their relatable humour and social commentary. Together, they have built a significant following and are celebrated for their chemistry and creativity.
