A khat seller in Eastleigh has been arraigned at Makadara Law Courts for allegedly causing grievous harm to a client who had advised him to pull up his trousers which were almost dropping down.
Halal Ali Warsame is accused of knocking out Abdilulahi Abdi Mohamed’s teeth on October 2 at Eastleigh area in Kamukunji Sub-County.
On the stated day, Abdi who is a driver in Nairobi, said he had joined his friend at a miraa chewing den after work.
He was handed over a bunch but before he sat down to enjoy it, he noticed that Warsame’s trouser was almost falling off.
He advised him to first pull up his trousers. This did not, however, go down well with Warsame who told Abdi to mind his business.
Abdi insisted that Warsame should wear his clothes properly. This irked the accused who immediately fell on Abdi with heavy blows on the mouth, knocking off his upper teeth. He was rescued by fellow khat chewers who rushed him to hospital where he was treated and discharged.
Following his arrest, the accused denied the charges and he was granted a bond of Sh100,000 pending hearing on May 28 next year.
