Kenyans have praised Larry Madowo and his crew after they went back on the Trend as a tribute to Jahmby Koikai.

For those in the dark, Jahmby would appear as a guest on The Trend when Larry Madowo was the host.

Madowo left the show in August 2018 after landing a job with an international media house.

He would co-host the show alongside Butita, Anita Nderu, Ciru Muriuki, Cindy Ogana and Jeff Mote.

Madowo made the announcement on Friday saying “if it is Friday, you know it is”.

“I’m back hosting The Trend live for one night only to celebrate the life of Jahmby Koikai,” he posted on his Instagram page.

NTV confirmed the reports with a post announcing the special edition of the show with the lineup of other guest appearances.

“Tonight we are doing the show in a special way. Tune in at 8 pm as we take you back to where it all started. The Top Trending Talkers are celebrating Jahmby in a special way,” NTV said.

Njambi was a former panelist on the show currently hosted by Amina Abdi Rabar.

Besides Larry, former panelists Ciru Muruiki, Jeff Mote and Anita Nderu  also featured as guest hosts alongside actress Cindy Ogana and content creator Eddie Butita.

Mary Njambi Koikai, better known as Fyah Mummah Jahmby Koikai to her fans, died at the Nairobi Hospital on Monday at around 9 pm.

The popular radio host and Reggae DJ, 38, succumbed to endometriosis which had tormented her for over two decades.
