Diamond Platnumz has once again proven why he is one of Africa’s most bankable entertainers, securing a staggering $700,000 (KSh 90.8 million) for his appearance at a high-profile wedding in Lusaka, Zambia.
The Tanzanian music sensation headlined the extravagant ceremony hosted by Chingola-based businessman Jimmy Karabassis and his bride Kadi, daughter of a prominent Zambian businessman.
Reports from Wasafi TV and Zambian media outlets reveal that the performance fee for the Bongo Flava star is one of the highest ever paid for a single appearance in the region.
Diamond made a grand entrance, arriving in Lusaka aboard a private jet and escorted to the luxurious Glynview Estate in a convoy of high-end vehicles.
His appearance alone set the tone for the evening, stressing the event’s exclusivity and the star power he brings to any stage.

Conversely, in December 2024, Diamond was slated to perform at the Furaha City Festival in Nairobi. Despite receiving a payment of $150,000 (approximately KSh 19.4 million), he did not take the stage, citing organizational issues and security concerns.
Diamond stated that he adhered strictly to his performance schedule and, upon delays and ensuing chaos, chose to leave the venue without performing.
