Police in Kilifi have arrested two women suspected of pedophilic activities involving a foreign citizen.
The arrest of the two, Fatma Muhammed and Lafisa Abdulrashid follows after police laid an ambush after complaints from parents over their actions.
At the time of the arrest, the suspects were about to deliver the children to the key suspect, Michael Ballantine, who escaped an angry mob in Kilifi, and is currently on the run.
A section of parents have come out to narrate how their children were abused by the key suspect.
Yusra Salim, a mother to one of the victims recounted that her child was taken away at 9 pm, and upon being found, the child revealed that the wanted suspect had touched them inappropriately and sexually abused them.
Tests conducted at a local health facility disclosed that the children had sustained injuries.
“Alichukuliwa saa tisa jioni na Fahitha, mtoto akaniambia yule mzungu alimshika sehemu zake za siri. Tukaenda hospitali na ameonekana kuwa amejeruhiwa…mtoto wangu amejeruhiwa vibaya mbele na nyuma,” the distraught mother said.
Yusra’s sentiments were echoed by another relative, Rukia Salim, who said the children decried being abused by the foreign national.
“Watoto wakiulizwa wanasema walishikwa huko mbele mara wakaingizwa mdudu kwenye mdomo, kwenda hospitali ikabainika ni kweli walifanyiziwa,” she added.
Leaders have joined to castigate the two women’s actions calling for further action against them by police.
Malindi Women Representative Amina Mnyazi fiercely condemned the incident and called for swift action by police.
She noted that the main suspect was paying adults to sleep with young children.
“Tumeshtuka sana isije ikawa wanatengeneza pono na kuziuza nchi za inje. Mtoto wa miaka tatu na sita atakufanyia starehe gani na wanawake wako warembo sana na nguvu zetu. Amekuwa akilipa wazazi ili akalale na watoto wadogo,” she said.
“Anajulikana anaishi wapi na tunataka akuwe tracked mpaka ashikwe. Huyo alikosa imani na roho mpaka anatamani watoto wa miaka mitatu, tunataka kumjua huyo ni shetani mgani.”
