Police in Ruaka, Kiambu County have arrested six robbery suspects and seized two guns said to be used in orchestrating crimes within the area.
The detectives also confiscated other stolen assorted items including six mobile phones, communication items such as walkie-talkies and crude weapons said to be used in break-ins.
Ruaka Police Commander Pius Mwanthi confirmed the incident saying that the six were nabbed after a foiled robbery attempt where the victim informed officers who stopped the car the robbers were using to escape after committing the crime.
Mwanthi says that insecurity has been on the rise in the area and the suspects are believed to be behind a series of recent robberies.
He has at the same time reassured that sleuths will remain vigilant to ensure insecurity is rooted out.
The six are currently held at Ruaka Police Station awaiting arraignment.
