Jubilation in Kitale as Governor Natembeya Re-Operationalizes Kitale Bus Park

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has today re- opened Kitale Bus Park that had been temporarily shut down due to wrangles between Boda Bodas and touts due to poor Bus Park leadership.

The Bus Park is re-opened with a new leadership order drawn from the County administration, National Transport Safety Authority ( NTSA), Matatu Owners, Touts and hawkers having representatives in the Committee.

This team will be charged with the responsibility of the daily operation of the bus terminus.

Governor Natembeya while presiding over the re-opening of the bus park, said that there was no way the bus park constructed by tax payers money could be left to be run by cartels.

He noted that his decision to reduce tax for small scale traders was informed by the high cost of living which has affected every citizen.

Governor Natembeya further noted that soon another market will be built along railways to decongest the Masinde Muliro Ultra modern Trading Center that's near completion. Governor said the new market cum Bus park will also ease parking that's a challenge now.

The Governor further noted that Trans Nzoia county government is in consultation with the National Government to hasten the relocation of the medium prison in the Central business District to pave way for the expansion of Kitale town whose population has ballooned over recent years.

The function was attended by County Secretary Truphosa Amere, CECs Stanley Kirui ( Trade and Industrialization), Janerose Mutama ( Lands), Jackson Amboka ( Roads and Public Works) and Samson Ojwang ( Public Service Management), Deputy County Commander Francis Gaitiriria, Chief the Philp Kaptein ( Lands) and Omar Ndiema among other top ranking County and Nation government officials.
