Former radio presenter Joyce Gituro was on Monday sworn in as Chief Officer Public Communications and E-government, in Machakos county.

The swearing-in ceremony followed a successful vetting and approval exercise by the County Assembly of Machakos.

The ceremony, attended by Governor Wavinya Ndeti also saw two other chief officers take oath.

They include; Francis Munyambu (Inspectorate and emergency services) and Dr Juliana Ndunge (Sewerage, Sanitation and waste management).

"I take the opportunity to wish them the very best, God's guidance and wisdom as they serve the great people of Machakos County in fulfilling our Clarion call Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni," Governor Ndeti said.

Their appointments were gazetted by the governor on June 21, 2024.

Gituro worked at Royal Media Services for over 15 years, having started as an On-Air Host and went on to grow through the ranks to become Transmission controller at Radio Citizen and later on Brand Manager.

In 2018, she quit and later on joined Mediamax Network as head of programs, where she was in charge of six Radio stations. She quit in 2019.

Gituro would later on join Radio Jambo in 2020, where she worked as host of the Sunday show 'Injili Jumapili' (Gospel Sunday).

She quit to focus on business.
